Flower Baskets

About a year ago, my parents and I, traveled up to the State Capital. For no real reason at all. Just for a quick trip. We didn't have a plan. But figured that we would walk through the Plaza. And eventually head home. It was a day trip.

And when we got there, you couldn't miss the beautiful flowers. Tons and tons of baskets, overflowing with beautiful flowers. Hanging throughout the Plaza. A little like these...

And since that time, those flowers were all I could think about. I wanted baskets of beautiful flowers for my yard. Something simple, but beautiful. So I almost died out of excitement, when I found hanging flower baskets, and liners, at the Dollar Tree.

I bought a dozen. I'm not even ashamed to admit that. They're not huge. But they are the perfect size. And I planted a bunch of seeds inside them. And a few flowers. I have bigger plans for next year. Since I have a better clue about growing flowers in a basket. And I've got so many ideas. Yup, I'm excited!

It's funny. How simple the idea is. And how it never occurred to me before. I want flowers to hang from my HUGE trees. And in the middle of the lawn. I just need to find those poles. I can imagine flowering vines growing up the poles, and flowers dangling from the baskets. All the things that inspired me, on that summer day. ♫

True Love

This color combination might just be, true love for me. I know. Since I was little, I've loved any and all shades of purple. But seriously, peach and aqua...my new favorite combination! It makes me want to paint the walls of my guest room. And sew up some new bedding. Instead, I'm going to spray paint some flower pots. Maybe make a new apron.

What are some of your favorite color combinations? I'm also loving a darker aqua with crimson. Oh there's also silver and lavender. And don't forget about hot pink and black. You can't go wrong with light blue and chocolate brown. I need to stop. If not, I might just have to repaint the entire interior of my house. ♫

Beautiful Blooms

For months now, I've been wanting to make these beautiful blooms. I've seen them made into everything from pins, to hairbands, to wreaths. I'm just in love with their delicate structure.

I can just imagine all the possibilities! Finally a use for so much scrap fabric. You know, I've got more than enough of that. :)

Maybe I can make a few. And give them as gifts. You know, I'm a little behind on Mother's Day presents. And these blooms can be made into some beautiful gifts.

Now to just find some time. You know, to make a little magic. I'm so inspired. All I want to do is sit down and make beautiful blooms. Happy Wednesday! ♫

Dreaming of a Pink Christmas

I've been dreaming of a beautiful pink Christmas. Funny. Because, for most of my life, I've HATED the color pink. But now, it just seems so PERFECT!

An angelic hue. That brings a piece of heaven to earth. Makes you relax and take in the season and all her glory...

With a whimsical wreath. A throw back to a time past. With lovely hues. Fun bobbles. And just the right amount of nostalgia.

Or maybe a wreath with more of a retro feel. With tons of bright colors. A wreath that just screams fun and time to celebrate!

You can't forget the tiny "Shabby Chic" decorations. Full of fun and inspiration. A bit whimsical, a bit girly.

And the perfect pink stockings. Hung by the chimney with care. I'd also like the warm glow of the fire...

Antique bowls filled with all your favorite ornaments. Glittering and catching the light, just perfectly. Adding to the glory of the season.

And a few candles to set the mood. To add a bit of romance, and serenity. Something to soften the heart.

And lots of fun ornaments. Hung from a variety of places. Adding to all of the festivities. A bit of sparkle. And some glam!

Don't forget the perfect little groupings. Tiny little objects. Grouped to become larger than life. To inspire the imagination. And provide a little bit of eye candy.

The perfect pink stars. Glittering so brightly. As if they just know, this is the entire purpose of their existence.

And lots of fun wrappings. Some of the more "expected" nature. Some just to add to the beauty and awe of the gifts.

Don't forget the beautiful gifts. Lots of fun papers and bows. Hiding the most perfect gifts you can imagine!

And tiny pink Christmas trees. Lots and lots of them. To fill just the right spaces around your home...

Elegant large Christmas trees. Simply decorated. But so unexpected. Adding to the wonder of the season. And the fun of the holidays!

Or just a plain pink tree. Simple. Timeless. Feminine. Flirty. Fun. Truly unexpected. But such a fun treat. Making Christmas just a bit more magical.

Yes, I've finally caved. Let a little bit of pink into my heart. And my home. Now if I could just find a few of these treasures. To add some fun into the holidays! ♫

In Time for Fall

I've been dreaming of cool, crisp days. Pumpkins lining the sidewalks. And the beautiful colors, of the changing leaves. Yes, I'm already craving Fall. My second favorite time of year.

Fall just makes me so excited. I think of spiced tea. Cuddly sweaters. Tons of apples. Yummy pumpkin dishes. And lots of soups and stews. All the things that make Fall, well Fall. I enjoy taking long walks. With the leaves rustling about. The air so crisp, you can feel it as you breathe.

This picture, well it's the entire reason I'm dreaming of Fall. Aren't these just the cutest cupcakes around? They make me yearn for Fall. When the weather turns crisp. And you begin to pull out your winter scarves and sweaters. Until the weather changes, I'm going to continue to be inspired. And come up with some yummy Fall desserts. ♫
