Good Luck Team USA!!!

Team USA. Isn't it just amazing what they've accomplished? I think so. Tons and tons of hard work. And heart. We're so proud of these ladies. It's not the time to compare them to 1999 team. No. These ladies are different. They've accomplished so much. Just like the 1999 team, they're amazing. A different set of women. Who will inspire so many American girls.

No matter what happens today, we're proud of our fellow Americans. Yes, we'd all be so excited with the victory. But our fellow Americans have already accomplished so much. So very much! Good luck ladies. We're all cheering for you. ♫

Sweet Angel

Over the last few days, we've learned so much. But there are still so many unanswered questions. The punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime. All the attention is on Casey.

But this sweet face, we just can't forget about her. The horror she must have endured. Her last living moments filled with such evil. This perfect little girl, didn't deserve any of it. We need to remember that.

And we need to remember Caylee Marie Anthony. She deserved a better life. She deserved a future. All we can do now, is pray for her. And remember her. Remember the sweet angel that was taken from this world, way too soon! ♫

Princess Perfection

We happened to have a little "Princess Party" in my hotel room this morning. Being that some of my Goddaughters, and many of my favorite little girls are here, we decided to celebrate the Royal Wedding.

A was a great help in that. Of course all the girls were dressed to the nines! They had all of their princess gear on. Because what princess leaves home without all of their princess attire? Not these little ones.

We also made sure, that all these girls took a nap. A LONG nap. Last night. You know, while us grown ups were working. So bright and early this morning, they were up. A was setting up a tea party for them. And we had tons of yummy food. I'm telling you, A is a catch! Any single ladies looking for a good man?

We watched all the coverage. I stayed with the girls. As the rest of the group headed to teach classes. After 5 hours of Royal Wedding coverage, I'm pretty sure A was ready to go work! :) But we had a blast!

"Nana, the princess is pretty. But she doesn't look as beautiful as I thought. How come?" The things that come out of the mouths of babes. :) I think they really thought Kate was going to be like their favorite fairy tale princesses.

My take on the whole affair. I think Kate looked amazing! I loved her dress. The top half, it was just gorgeous. And the veil. So simple and elegant. I love the grandeur of the British Royalty. But the simplicity that Kate and William wanted for their wedding.

What a fun morning we had! Tons of little girls, tutus, tiaras, tea, yummy food, princesses, and flowers. What better way to start a Friday! But now folks, I need to get ready for work. We have rehearsal in just over an hour. Happy Friday! ♫

Breastfeeding Baby Doll

I'm sure that you all know, I study nutrition and medicine. Along with that comes lots of teaching. In subjects that I never really thought of, prior to college. Like fertility, breastfeeding, and L&D. But times change.

So with the teaching that I do, I learn about all sorts of new things. I can sit here and rattle on for days, about breast pumps. I can give you suggestions on how to increase your supply. And give you some tips for weaning.

But this, well I'm not going to lie, stopped me in my tracks!

A breastfeeding doll. For little girls. Huh? I was a little bit "taken aback" when I first heard about it. But then, I stopped to think...

The best part about being the "youngest" out of my friends is, I learn from them. And their kiddos. Like when my Commadre G was breastfeeding her twins. Her young girls would mimic her. Trying to breastfeed their baby dolls. They didn't think it was wrong. No. Because they watched their mommy feed their younger siblings.

Even though she covered up, the girls knew, that was the way the babies were eating. So they would pretend play in the same way. It's not a bad thing. So I understand the reasons for this doll. As do my friends.

That could be why, we just ordered a few. What do you think? I know it's going to wrinkle some feathers. Especially since they're not stateside yet. But they're coming this summer.

Did I mention? One of the clinics I work at, they just ordered 20. Since we promote breastfeeding real babies, they figured why not. We can start making females more comfortable with their bodies. Breastfeeding is not a sexual act. It's a mothering act. ♫

What Do You Think?

This is a Chupacabra. Part beast, part animal, part super creature. Around these parts, they are on the news, at least a few times a week. No lie! And there is always a debate...are they real???

What do you think? Chupacabras are pretty ugly things. They are destructive. And honestly, most of the news stories, surround upset Ranchers. Whose cattle is being attacked and killed. All I know is, I wouldn't want to come into contact with one. But are they real? Or are they just part of a myth. Like the "Skin Walker?" ♫
