Frozen Fruit Squares

I think I've said this before, I LOVE Cookbooks. And Gooseberry Patch. So it shouldn't surprise you, that I am a HUGE GBP's Free Recipe of the Week. Here's this week's recipe...

Frozen Fruit Squares

8-oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar
1-1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 c. chopped pecans
2 bananas, sliced
3 c. frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 8-oz. cans crushed pineapple, drained
2 10-oz. pkgs. frozen strawberries, thawed and drained
12-oz. pkg. mini marshmallows
1 c. grapes, halved

Blend cream cheese, sugar and mayonnaise together; fold in remaining ingredients. Spread in an ungreased 13"x9" freezer-safe pan; cover with aluminum foil and freeze. Remove from freezer and allow to soften before cutting into squares. Makes 18 servings.

I know. It sounds a little weird. But trust me, it's yummy! A and I made this last night. We were watching a friend's mom and MIL. They requested pizza, after church. And we whipped up a batch of these. Yum! There was nothing left! Perfect for summer! ♫

It's That Time...

You know. It's Summer! And it's time for lots of fun. Long and lazy evenings...with your best friends. The deep belly laughing, that you only do with those few people. Summer nights filled with yummy treats, great music, and the silliest of evenings. Yes, it's that time of year! When I know I'm blessed, with the best friends you can find.

Tonight, I look forward to yummy s'mores. Gooey and warm chocolate, with toasty marshmallows. One or ten...of the best tacos on Earth! And of course, lots of silly laughs. Maybe even A, trying to be a monster. Chasing the ninitos around the yard. Like only their Tio can. He really is the best monster of the group. ;)

Yes, this just might be, my favorite time of year! I feel just like a 5 year old child, on Christmas morning. Because, I get to have dinner at my Compadres' home. And spend a few wonderful hours, with my amigos. We might just add in some music...afterall, we are mariachis! Happy Summer! ♫

Inexpensive Summer Trends

So a few weeks ago, I was watching GMA. And they were talking about summer fashion. Lara had some fun suggestions. And well, it got me thinking. So here is Lara's list...with some of my thoughts. :)

Lara's List of Six

1. Emerald green cut cocktail ring
Cost/where to buy: H&M, $5.95. Check with your local H&M store for availability.

Sounds pretty great to me. You know me and my love for accessories. Funny how rings are quickly becoming my favorites! Now if we could just get an H&M store nearby, I'd be one happy lady!

2. Soft crop olive pants
Cost/where to buy: American Eagle's Aerie line, $14.95

I can't lie, I have 4 pairs of these. From Old Navy! I got them on clearance 2 years ago. For $2 a pair! They're my favorite in hot weather. :)

3. Striped women's scoop-neck tee
Cost/where to buy: Old Navy, $8.50

Really? So easy! I've got a bunch of striped tees. They actually remind me of sailing. I don't know why...

4. Macramé belt
Cost/where to buy: Old Navy, $17.94

Really? I might have to go raid my Mom's closet. She has a ton of these! Totally from the 80s!

5. Brown and gold sequence gladiator sandals
Cost/where to buy: Payless, $19.99

I'm so not a fan of sandals. Especially gladiator sandals. But I know some people out there must enjoy them...

6. Blue and white trend items
Cost/where to buy: H&M, various items price under $20. Check your local H&M store for availability.

Really? I have a ton in my closet. Funny how lots of these things are already in my closet. And I got them on clearance. For under $5 a piece.

So what do you think? Anything you love or hate? I'll be the one in leggings, ballet slippers, and silly rings all summer long. How about you? ♫

Thinking About Summer Nights

You'd think, that after all that cooking last week, I wouldn't want to eat. Well, you're wrong! I'm seriously craving a yummy fresh salad. Like this. Garden fresh. I just wish that my garden would produce some yummy tomatoes, and basil. Yum! Just looking at this salad, makes me think of warm summer nights. How about you? ♫
